Beckett Gandolfi grew up in Antioch, IL. His interest in physical therapy first began while he was guiding backpacking, white water kayaking, and rock climbing excursions throughout Colorado, Utah, and California. There he discovered his passion to motivate individuals to exceed their physical expectations. Beckett has always been an outdoor enthusiast. He has challenged his own physical capacity by bicycling unsupported across the United States and rock-climbing 1,000+ foot cliff faces all over the world.
Beckett earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from California State University, Long Beach. While at CSULB, he researched the effectiveness of various treatments for multiple sclerosis. He worked in the neurological pro bono clinic, rehabilitating patient’s recovering from stroke and Parkinson’s. While in graduate school, he obtained clinical experience at UCI Medical Center’s cardio thoracic step-down unit during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. His true passion is working in orthopedics where he is best able to pair his clinical knowledge with his unique ability to motivate and inspire patients to achieve and sustain a better quality of life.
Beckett is a huge proponent of evidence-based interventions. He utilizes functional movements and neuromuscular assessment to diagnose and treat orthopedic impairments and re-establish/optimize a patient’s movement patterns. He uses a range of manual therapy techniques including capsular mobilizations, joint manipulations, soft tissue mobilization, instrumented soft tissue mobilization, facial releases, focused stretching, muscle energy technique, neuro mobilization, and proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation to treat neuromusculoskeletal pathologies.
At his graduation, he gave the student address and was awarded for his academic excellence and philanthropic efforts. Post-graduation, Beckett continues to pair his love for outdoor activity and physical therapy by volunteering at adaptive sports programs like SoCal Trykers, Life Rolls On, and Adaptive Freedom Foundation which facilitates participation of bicycling, stand up paddle boarding, and surfing for children with special needs.
